Purpose of Fund
The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to provide Christmas gifts for eligible families with children requesting assistance. 

History of Fund

The Giving Tree has been serving Putnam County for several years. Our mission is to organize community efforts to support families in need of assistance during the Christmas season.

Each year schools and other community organizations assist us by selecting families who are eligible. The Putnam County Giving Tree meets with families to understand their needs and wants.  All applicants’ personal information is kept confidential. With the generous support of our community, we are able to help approximately 850 children in Putnam County each year.

The Putnam County Giving Tree provides an efficient, coordinated, county-wide resource helping caring people buy Christmas presents for needy Putnam County children aged 18 and under, avoiding duplications in services and effort. 

 Presents Provided:

• Brand new toys and clothes. 

 Eligibility:

• Resident of Putnam County and/or attending a Putnam County school
• Qualify for government subsidized family programs
• Aged 18 years and under

 For Assistance:

• Deadline for application: Nov 5, 2011
• Applications available at the following locations: Putnam County school  offices, Family Support Services, Johnson Nichols Health Clinic, Putnam County Head Start Program, CareNet Pregnancy Center.

To sponsor a child you may obtain "Name Tag(s)" from Christmas Trees located at the Greencastle Wal-Mart, Goody's, Kroger, Monical's Pizza or Buffalo Wild Wings.
