Al and Joan Tucker Family Endowment

Year Founded
2010

Purpose of Fund
Grants are awarded from the Al and Joan Tucker Family Community Endowment by the Board of Directors of the Putnam County Community Foundation to support the changing needs and aspirations of the people in Putnam County as the years go by.

History of Fund
Al and Joan Tucker moved to Cloverdale in 1963 when Al started his career as a teacher and coach. Joan continued her nursing career in Putnam County until her retirement in 2000. Al's second career was as a local State Farm Insurance agent until his retirement in 2007. Al and Joan were both products of large families with limited resources – other than ten and eleven siblings.

Al and Joan have lived a life of giving, caring, and sharing.  Cloverdale and Putnam County has been a great place for the Tucker family to work, play, and raise a family. “We have been truly blessed, and wanted to be a part of a perpetual gift to Putnam County through the Putnam County Community Foundation.”
