Jinsie Scott Bingham Community Endowment

Year Founded
2010

Purpose of Fund
Grants are awarded from the Jinsie Scott Bingham Community Endowment to support the changing needs and aspirations of the people in Putnam County as the years go by.

History of Fund
If there were a Putnam County-specific dictionary, the word “Accomplished” ought to be defined by the life of Jinsie Scott Bingham. As the first woman in Indiana to own and operate her own radio station – WJNZ – and past president of well over ten civic organizations, including the Putnam County Community Foundation, the Chamber of Commerce, and Rotary Club, Jinsie has truly done it all. She currently serves on Greencastle City Council. The former Chamber of Commerce “Citizen of the Year” ensured her legacy will continue to grow in the years ahead with the establishment of this endowment.

In 2011, the Foundation honored Jinsie Bingham for her years of philanthropic work with its highest honor, The Spirit of Philanthropy Award.
