Purpose of Fund

The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to provide income

to insure purchase, lease, rent, or build and maintain facilities and/or exhibits as the payout will provide.

History of Fund

The mission of the Putnam County Museum is to collect, preserve, and interpret the natural, historical, and cultural heritage of the County and its people througheducation, exhibits and special programs.

Dr. James D. Thomas and
Zella Marie Taber Thomas

Dr. James D. and Mrs. Zella Marie Taber Thomas started the endowment fund for the Museum operations in 2000.

In 2004 Louis J. Fontaine, founder of the Jones Elementary School Historical Studies Fund requested the assets of this fund be merged into the Putnam County Historical and Cultural Endowment Fund.
