Hardman Family Advised Endowment Fund

Hardman Family

Year Founded
2000

Purpose of Fund
The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to provide financial support to charitable community projects and charities as suggested and approved by the Foundation's Board of Directors.

History of Fund

Thelma Farlow Hardman was the oldest of six children born to a Quaker family in Southern Indiana. Books were the "love of her life." She graduated from Earlham College and Indiana University, married Harold Hardman, and served as teacher-librarian at Greencastle Community Schools for 28 years. Her daughter, Janet, and her son-in-law, Mark Elliot, both graduated from Greencastle High School and now live in Connecticut.

"The Hardman-Elliott families wish to show their appreciation for the schools, churches, and charitable organizations that have made Greencastle a great place to live and raise a family." Thelma reports she spent many happy and productive years in Greencastle.
