Purpose of Fund
The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to provide operating support for the A Way Home Shelter.

History of Fund

The A-Way Home shelter was started in 1994 with $500 by the Greencastle Housing Authority Emergency Shelter. It was granted 501(c)(3) status by the IRS in 2001.

The Shelter was named through a contest with the local school children. Children were given the opportunity to submit ideas of a name for the future shelter. Jessica Moore’s idea of a home away from home shelter was chosen by the Board of Directors.
