Greencastle High School Alumni Scholarship Fund
Purpose of Fund
The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to provide scholarships for graduates of Greencastle High School for the purpose of continuing education, in perpetuity.
History of Fund
In 1995, Greencastle Community Schools Superintendent, James P. Renz, and Greencastle High School Principal, Robert L. Harbison, asked GHS alumna Jinsie Bingham to form an alumni association for Greencastle High School Graduates. One of the attributes of that organization was to be a fundraiser for scholarships for needy GHS graduates. Bingham called upon persons known to have an interest in the schools and the result was the formation of the Alumni Association and the scholarship fund. Norm Handy from Handy's Dairy gave an initial contribution to begin the fund.
