Purpose of Fund
The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to provide educational financial support to a full-time female student(s), attending DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana .

History of Fund

Mary Louise Miller came to DePauw University and to Putnam County in 1942. She taught at DePauw University until her retirement in 1974. In 1993 Mary Lou was inducted into the prestigious DePauw University Athletic Hall of Fame. She was a major donor starting the Mary Louise Miller Philanthropic Fund and The Putnam County Hospice Fund. She was an active member of the community and her generous spirit lives on.

In 1996, Mary Lou was awarded the Putnam County Community Foundation's Spirit of Philanthropy Award. Mary Lou was an active member of its Board of Directors and was dedicated to the Community Foundation which will continue to fulfill her philanthropic wishes in perpetuity.
