Purpose of Fund

The primary purpose of the Fund shall be to provide educational financial support to a full-time female student(s), attending Rockford College, Rockford, Illinois.

History of Fund

Mary Louise Miller was a 1930 graduate of Rockford College. In 1990 she was the recipient of the Rockford College Annual Alumni Award of Distinction. She came to Putnam County and to DePauw University in 1942 were she taught until her retirement in 1974. She remained an active member of the community. Mary Lou was a major donor starting the Mary Louise Miller Philanthropic Fund and The Putnam County Hospice Fund.

In 1996, Mary Lou was awarded the Putnam County Community Foundation's Spirit of Philanthropy Award. Mary Lou was an active member of its Board of Directors and was dedicated to the Community Foundation which will continue to fulfill her philanthropic wishes in perpetuity.
