Second Congregational Church of Christ Endowment

This fund was started upon the death and following certain other charitable donations from the Mary Louise Miller Charitable Remainder Trust, 7% of the net assets held in Trust were transferred to be administered as an endowment fund for the benefit of the Second Congregational Church of Christ of Rockford, Illinois.

Mary Louise Miller came to DePauw University and to Putnam County in 1942. She taught at DePauw University until her retirement in 1974 and remained an active member of the community. She was a major donor starting the Mary Louise Miller Philanthropic Fund and The Putnam County Hospice Fund.

In 1996, Mary Lou was awarded the Putnam County Community Foundation's Spirit of Philanthropy Award. Mary Lou was an active member of its Board of Directors and was dedicated to the Community Foundation which will continue to fulfill her philanthropic wishes in perpetuity.
